[edit] Effectiveness

is there a certain stat that raises the effectiveness of counter?

Wisdom is linked to counter and it's effectiveness.

[edit] Usefullness

how useful is this spell now? granted it was extreemly overpowered... meaning that at lvl 6 and with counter, Blinding Protection and even a prespic set someones able to deflect massive amounts of damage by being hit. but to reduce it to only lasting 3 turns... -Didodeman 17:58, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

I would like to know as well. Should it be a recommended build?
i do notice that it makes it a lot easier to fight Prespics but still hurts Xelors a lot. -Didodeman 16:02, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Resistance

Does resistance of source of dmg work when dmg is reflected by counter? - Dawwy 16:52, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] More powerful in 1.26?

I've been fighting Prespics, and it seems like at least their version of Counter is behaving differently than it used to. For one thing, I'm seeing level 20 Prespics reflecting 20+ points, which is very inconsistent with the 3-9 that would be the maximum for a character at that level (even with a wisdom boost unless their wisdom is astronomical). Also, they're reflecting trap damage; I'm sure they didn't used to do that, because as an Sram I rely heavily on that. I also have a Xelor character, so I'll have to check whether that behavior holds for characters, but right now it seems to me that the spell Prespics cast isn't really the same one that characters get even though it has the same name. [edit] Prespic Counter

  • I want to know if the amount of wisdom an Osa has affects the damage that they would reflect with counter if a prespic casts counter on the summoner--Demoneus
Wisdom does indeed effect the amount reflected by a Counter casted on the Osamodas by a summoned Prespic. Galrauch (talk) 16:14, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Counter drain effects

If you cast a drain spell on something with counter on, something very strange happens. I wonder why? This is what I used to look like, as a squirrelAdventuresOfASquirrelzzz05:53, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I don't remember when this began happening, but apparently it's now possible to gain half the steal damage you inflict with reflection, as though you were the one dealing the damage. This also happens with Blinding Protection, of course. Quite an interesting and wonderful side-effect. I imagine it was implemented about the time they caused reflect effects to cumulate rather than stack, and to come after linear reductions and shields. 1.26 I think it was.
