Edge of Tomorrow is a quest.

Obtaining[]

Talk to Elvis Irr at [1,6] in the Gonebyways.
Dialog

The Altdemons are causing chaos in the Xelorium. If only I could get my hands on the person responsible for this mess.. I don't suppose you want to make yourself useful by tidying up a bit or peeling some potatoes?

Affirm you're worth more than that.

Really? In that case, you probably won't mind checking the condition of the weapons prototypes that just arrived from Srambad.

Accept.

Step 1: Edge of Tomorrow[]

You've accepted a weapons inspection mission.
  • Check the state of the weapon prototypes
Go through the left door of the Xelorium outpost, then go to the back room. Click one of the boxes.
Dialog

Be careful, these weapons prototypes are not toys! Anyways, who gave you authorisation to be here?

Explain the task entrusted by Elvis Irr.

Go and tell him I've already done it. Besides two defective prototypes, the others can all be used by our agents. Although, I don't really trust any equipment provided by Hydra. And I'm still waiting on my order of pickled prunes.

Dialog
Report on the state of the weapons prototypes.

How did you manage to test them so quickly? I see, Rita took care of it... What is that awful din? Where are all these bloodied demons coming from?

Try to contain the assault.
Despite a heroic struggle, you eventually buckle and perish.
Dialog
Ask why there's no trace of the Altdemons' attack.

What are you saying? I cannot stand the sight of agents drunk on duty. Once you've sobered up, you probably won't mind checking the condition of the weapons prototypes that just arrived from Srambad.

Realize that a jump back in time has happened and warn him of the imminent Altdemon attack.

You're not leaving me any choice. I'm going to send you to the hole and you won't be coming back out until you've completely regained control of your senses.

Protest.
  • Find a way to get out of prison
Click the little crack in the wall of the prison.
While you rot in your cell, you hear the Altdemons start their assault on the outpost. After what seems like an eternity, you die in a collapse brought on by an explosion.
Dialog
Affirm you're worth more than that.

Really? In that case, you probably won't mind checking the condition of the weapons prototypes that just arrived from Srambad.

Accept.
  • Check the state of the weapon prototypes
Repeat the first step of this quest.

Dialog
Warn her of an imminent Altdemon assault.

What are you talking about? The Altdemon are completely disorganised, we don't have to worry about any large-bodied attacks. Looks like I spoke too soon...

Dialog

I don't have time to talk, my axe is itching to chop off some Altdemon heads.

Push her to the ground to avoid a claw swipe.
Your heroic act has kept Rita Fulmedal from suffering a fatal blow since you've taken her place.
  • Poke your head through the door
Click the Xelorium Portal from within the dimension and "use" it, but do not leave the dimension.
No sooner have you passed your head through the portal than it closes on your neck, dividing you into two parts that can't survive without the other.

Leave Elvis Irr to it and try to join Rita Foulmetal.
Dialog

I don't have time to talk, my axe is itching to chop off some Altdemon heads.

Push her to the ground to avoid a claw swipe.
Dialog

Move, you're crushing me. What did you do that for? If you were trying to feel me up, you can say goodbye to your hands.

Push back the Altdemon attacks while explaining it's not easy saving their life each time.

Every time? What do you mean by that? If we ever manage to fight off this attack, come and see me straight away, as soon as you wake up.

Act surprised when your head is separated from your body.
Dialog
Talk about the temporal buckle.

I don't know if I can trust you but, when in doubt, we don't have a second to lose. Come with me, I want you to meet a friend of mine.

  • Find the map: Outpost workshop
Go back 1 map from where Rita Foulmetal is in the Xelorium outpost.
Dialog

Hello, I have a lot of work to do, but I can listen to you if it's important.

Let Rita Foulmetal start the explanation.

So you're also a victim of Hiroshi Syndrome? I didn't mean to be unkind when I said that. You know, Rita had the same thing when we were holding off the Altdemon attacks while the outpost was being set up. What's more, without this syndrome, we would all have been massacred on the very first day and you wouldn't be able to set foot on the Xelorium's ground today. Wait, it seems somebody's fighting outside.

Press her to tell the rest.

I'm going as fast as I can. Rita fell victim to this syndrome after the malfunctioning of one of our spatio-temporal beacons, but she lost it following a serious accident that almost cost her her life. Since then, nothing. I think we should join in defending the outpost and continue our discussion later.

Warn her that there won't be a "later".
Alas, you're right: there was no "later".
Dialog
Talk about the temporal buckle.

I don't know if I can trust you but, when in doubt, we don't have a second to lose. Come with me, I want you to meet a friend of mine.

Dialog
Explain that you need her.

Me? Ah, erm... You should have warned me so I could have worn something a little more appropriate...

Interrupt them and ask about the origins of the syndrome.

Ah? Sorry, I thought that... Never mind. Since it seems we've already discussed this in the past, I'll get straight to the point. This morning, I noticed that one of the reserve's defective temporal stabilisers was missing. At the time, I wasn't worried, but this could be the source of the syndrome that's affecting you. You must get your hands on it and neutralise it. I'm going to create a device for you to do it properly.

Tell them to hurry.
While talking too much, you didn't see the time slip by. A jarring explosion wakes you up and reminds you that the world doesn't revolve around you, especially since you're dead now.
