Playful Claw has an area effect of 4 spaces, in a straight line (just like level 5 Burning Arrow) and no Line of Sight is necessary. As such, you can attack over terrain, allies or other opponents. You can effectively hit an opponent as far as 7 spaces away by targetting the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th spaces. As with any other linear area of effect, you do more damage on the targeted square and 10% less on each square after that.
