Any idea why it's damage reduced by 10, damage reduced by 10 instead of just damage reduced by 20? - TaviRider 02:26 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I believe that one is Physical Damage and the other is Magical Damage, and that they are augmented by different stats. (This would have to be tested, before updating, perhapys by using different equipments (to see what stats effect it) and attacks to see the reductions). --old-klan 15:55, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
it is indeed physical and magical reductions, which are seperate. I do not know what increases it, but my guess it that it is either wisdom or any element stat (intel, agility, strength, chance) Deadly-bagel

Is is possible to dodge the mp loss? Deadly-bagel

is it true that int increase the dmg reduction? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.193.63.140 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

int does increase the reduction. 1% per int.

I just dodged 1mp loss from it, so yes, it can be dodged

I don't remember having ever dodged that, although I've cast it hundreds, maybe thousands of times, with a pretty high MP loss resist. - Japahn 08:22, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

In teory, it should be impossible to avoid mp or ap loss from yourself, since the formula, which I believe is;

your ap/mp resist - your targets ap/mp resist + 100 = chance to reduce ap/mp % this means you CAN dodge it with additional mp resist from, feca, for example. But without, you should have 100 % chance to reduce ap or mp when the target is yourself. This SHOULD also mean that this spell would make it impossible to lose ap when casting devotion, right? --Eli-Wolf 11:03, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah it does allow you a greater chance to dodge Devotions AP loss, though it's not always going to dodge it. I'm unsure about the MP as on my Xelor's I;ve never manage to dodge it. That said I've never been with a Feca for the MP resistance. Galrauch (talk) 11:39, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

The reduction is fueled by the coorisponding stat. for example if you want to reduce fire int helps. so when attacked by a fire attack it takes your int and gets your reduction based off of that. What makes this spell differant from fecas shields, then, is that int does not affect all elemental reductions. only fire.

Ah so it should be, I forgot they changed the shielding formulae. Just a note though, it will still be affected by int if the int is greater than the other relevant stat, so if you have 100 int and 1 agi and take wind damage it will reduce based on your int.
