Any one know if you can have more then one out at a time?

You need Summoning equipment. Gobball Hammer is obvious early item to get. --Fogleg 09:25, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

"Remember though, all summons attack power is based on YOUR level, not the spell level... So none of this is completely accurate."

This is confusing, since the amount of damage a summon does is based on both the spell level and the summoner's level. The text seems to indicate it is just the summoner's level. --Aetnaria

Usefulness of Gobbal Summon for Higer Levels[]

As an Intelligence/Summon build, I realized that in many player-versus-monster high stakes fights, I lost because I ran out of decent things to summon within a few turns. I had Ghostly Claw at lv 6, but there were many, many instances where me doing some fire damage for 4AP was not nearly enough to save my Osasmodas' rear end from defeat. So I got to thinking, I need to be able to summon something decent every turn, something that can deflect attention away from my Osamodas, and hopefully block Line Of Sight. Dealing some off-element (Non-Intelligence) Damage is also a big plus.

At level 6, I have found my Gobbal to be more useful at this point than lv 6 Ghostly Claw was. I deal far more damage and have an enviable amount of mob control, being able to summon 2 or so gobbals a turn, in conjunction with Wyrmling, Crackler, and Prespic. Fighting huge groups of Kangiers, for instance, is a breeze. It has totally changed my experience in PvP as well, because creating a minefield of angry fuzzy gobbals blocks many spells from hitting me and covers my retreat splendidly. Also, being able to summon more than one gobbal a turn helps versus an Osa, as they can usually only whip once per turn.

I personally spent kamas to unlearn Ghostly to max my gobbal and I don't really regret it, although I plan to level it again, and also Crow.
