Spells[]

  • Banter: Melee range attack, deals medium air damage, lifts one turn off all effects on everyone affected.
  • Demonic Breath: Medium range attack, deals moderate water damage. Puts the target in the Pacifist state which renders them unable to deal damage for 1 turn. (This can be lifted.)
  • Malfunction: Long range Transposition type of spell, can only be used if XLII has been moved.

Strategy[]

XLII will summon his unmovable and invulnerable Aurour at the beginning of the fight. At the start of every player’s turn it will move across the map in a clockwise pattern. If you hit the Aurour you will be teleported symmetrically around it. If the Aurour lands on an ally or enemy it will swap places with them.

The Aurour will start on the 12th hour tile, and move to the next hour tile at the start of the next player’s turn, until XLII is dead. The hour determines the modified damage you will deal and receive during the fight, in increments of 10% each hour, and resets at the 12th hour. Note that when XLII dies his Aurour will die with him, and hours will no longer modify damage for the remainder of the fight.

These are the effects of each hour, though only while XLII is alive. This is irrelevant once XLII is dead:

  • 12th hour: Players and monsters deal 60% less damage. (The Aurour begins on this hour.)
  • 1st hour: Players and monsters deal 50% less damage.
  • 2nd hour: Players and monsters deal 40% less damage.
  • 3rd hour: Players and monsters deal 30% less damage.
  • 4th hour: Players and monsters deal 20% less damage.
  • 5th hour: Players and monsters deal 10% less damage.
  • 6th hour: Damage is not modified by this hour.
  • 7th hour: Players and monsters deal 10% more damage.
  • 8th hour: Players and monsters deal 20% more damage.
  • 9th hour: Players and monsters deal 30% more damage.
  • 10th hour: Players and monsters deal 40% more damage.
  • 11th hour: Players and monsters deal 50% more damage. (The cycle resets after this hour.)
